The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
